Lifeposting #5: A Trip's Summary
Mar. 29th, 2024 09:13 pmWell! Once again it has been a while as the warming weather and beginning of spring has brought much more outside time to my feathers...
Welcome back to the musing!
Mainly a welcome to myself... but potential readers may be welcomed back too :)
Since my last post, I have gone on two trips! The first one was work-related, as we drove out of the city and to the mountains in order to take data on local wildlife. Of course, in my mind, this was also a great excuse for birdwatching! The typical fare fell upon my excited eyes on the weekend of the trip. I did get to witness a calliope hummingbird which is always very cool to see!! A sight of plovers was also grand... I was certainly not disappointed :3 I got a nice little carved bird and a leather-and-string bracelet as neat souvenirs!
Moving on was the second... and longer trip. Spring break began, and thus a gathering of long-time friends and I decided to travel out west. Well we're pretty far west already, but we went further ^-^ At first, the trip took us to a nice spot outside of Kelowna where we spent much time seeing the sights, both of the place proper and the nature around it. Later, we spent time driving down and spending the weekend in Vancouver!
I tried this very good vegan place (though I'm vegetarian, I don't often have good cuisine like this! A good change of pace indubitably), and although I pulled a muscle in my leg that made this crowed soul struggle to walk up any stairs for a few days following... we also went to a local music showcase! It was in this pretty small venue that felt very communal and at that moment I realized that nothing my city has to offer will ever be as cool :( BUT that's okay. We can move someday!!
As of the most recent of recentings, my destination has landed at home, as I've been spending time this week catching up and enjoying the company of family -- something I've seldom done in a hot minute.. No coincidence though, as both my dad's and oldest sister's birthdays fall within this week. As ever fleeting as my presence with blood and faux-blood is, I do appreciate time and energy spent with them! I may leave them all behind physically someday... but a crow's heart holds room for an infinite amount of those who care are cared for
...Woo!! More posting done. More to come soon.
I have restarted a fun little music tournament-style thingy within my friend group. I will have thoughts on those songs when it begins proper -- as well as more context -- for now, see you in the skies x3
