Well! Once again it has been a while as the warming weather and beginning of spring has brought much more outside time to my feathers...

Welcome back to the musing!
Mainly a welcome to myself... but potential readers may be welcomed back too :)

Since my last post, I have gone on two trips! The first one was work-related, as we drove out of the city and to the mountains in order to take data on local wildlife. Of course, in my mind, this was also a great excuse for birdwatching! The typical fare fell upon my excited eyes on the weekend of the trip. I did get to witness a calliope hummingbird which is always very cool to see!! A sight of plovers was also grand... I was certainly not disappointed :3 I got a nice little carved bird and a leather-and-string bracelet as neat souvenirs!

Moving on was the second... and longer trip. Spring break began, and thus a gathering of long-time friends and I decided to travel out west. Well we're pretty far west already, but we went further ^-^ At first, the trip took us to a nice spot outside of Kelowna where we spent much time seeing the sights, both of the place proper and the nature around it. Later, we spent time driving down and spending the weekend in Vancouver!

I tried this very good vegan place (though I'm vegetarian, I don't often have good cuisine like this! A good change of pace indubitably), and although I pulled a muscle in my leg that made this crowed soul struggle to walk up any stairs for a few days following... we also went to a local music showcase! It was in this pretty small venue that felt very communal and at that moment I realized that nothing my city has to offer will ever be as cool :( BUT that's okay. We can move someday!!

As of the most recent of recentings, my destination has landed at home, as I've been spending time this week catching up and enjoying the company of family -- something I've seldom done in a hot minute.. No coincidence though, as both my dad's and oldest sister's birthdays fall within this week. As ever fleeting as my presence with blood and faux-blood is, I do appreciate time and energy spent with them! I may leave them all behind physically someday... but a crow's heart holds room for an infinite amount of those who care are cared for

...Woo!! More posting done. More to come soon.
I have restarted a fun little music tournament-style thingy within my friend group. I will have thoughts on those songs when it begins proper -- as well as more context -- for now, see you in the skies x3

Well! It's been a bit; perhaps some itching urge to update kept pestering me... but I did not listen until perhaps one of the worst times for me to update!! Not literally.. but a past-midnight expense of my words will have me warn of a terrible fate: Crow Gobbledigook.

(Sidenote: I love saying gobbledigook. Incorporate it into your daily life if you love fun)

A week and change! Indeed, that's how long it's been since the last edition of crowthoughts -- lifeposting too, though that's most of my blog until I feel like musing on music some more..! Because of this, I can pretty much just give a general summary of my happenings (Evidently infrequent updates are probably better! My life isn't filled with enough happenings to justify daily yapping. I digress-):

The college grind continues.. the most notable thing was me spending 5 grueling days in total writing a report on a lab I conducted for my biochemistry class. If you ever wanted to hear someone talk about organic compounds for 10 pages + silly presentation, do message me about it (don't. you don't want this)

It started warming up!! It got above freezing!! I've been working out more, and also actually going on true outside walks again because I won't become a crowsicle; excellent times!! As such, I have also had the time to meet up with friends more -- and just last Saturday, get pretty piss drunk while spending my Sunday recovering from perhaps too much partying.. (that's possible??)

Online things have been quite chill too. Certain issues have mostly settled and I've gotten back into my routine of just being a silly tgirl with immense swag and talking to all of my buddies!! I do not anticipate that it will stay easy forever but I will stand strong all the same #WolfUp

I started a little competition for my friends on there... sort of as a distraction from the dissatisfaction I faced with the community the idea comes from as large. It's rather epic :3

One minor thing the day of (technically yesterday, going by actual time): I witnessed a very awkward relationship quarrel as I was hanging out with friends and sharing dinner. While I wanted to enjoy a nice home-cooked meal and some time playing Mario Party, I instead had to sit silently and watch a fight... and we didn't even play Mario Party :( Sincerely I hope things resolve between them, my friends being mad at each other is the last thing I want to see..

So yes!! Quite the time of my life it's been -- things trend up, particularly in the "i'm actually so fucking gay" department, but the general life department will do as well ^-^ Stay crowin', and come back sometime later for more of my thoughts... if you dare!! In all seriousness, I will have some more musicposting to do in the near-ish future!! Stay tuned.

Not even the whims of Sigur Rós can save me from unfortunate rumblings today...

Well... it's been an interesting couple of days for sure. At least online - and in real life. I really cannot catch a break right now!! The crow's mind wavers with the tired thoughts of witnessing ignorance in others

To start off, my allergies have been bad. Coincidentally, I also forgot to grab my allergy medicine from home! Hm. Wonder if that's correlated in any way. I did get to take a long nap today, which felt very nice :) I appreciate my Fridays being so free... the weekend should hopefully bring more time to simply relax as well...

Online has been rough on a mental level. I am tired. There is no need to get into the specifics of it all here, but it is simply frustrating on a whole other level when not one, but two people come into your Direct Messages, and you, blissfully unaware of the forthcoming messages, are hit with the Victim Blaming bomb!! I am not pleased. In fact, I made that quite known. I have no tolerance for bullshit.

Shouldn't be too worked up about it though... I've got other positives to at least look upon. Today I had a strawberry donut for breakfast!! I figured some mental conniptions out!! And generally I have been thriving when the situation does not call for my doom!! A crow's wings may be damaged, but never clipped. I can mend, and I can fly higher than those who try to pull my mood down ever will. Perhaps the soothe tones of Sigur Rós truly have invigorated me - I said it wasn't helping much earlier... but I truly feel so at peace with myself. I love Iceland, and I love music!! #Cunty

SCATTERED POSTING COMPLETE. CONCLUSION REACHED.
Stand your ground, crowfriends, and don't waver in your beliefs... and don't forget. Nobody is immune to propaganda. Be mindful, be strong.

Guess I am truly making this a regular occurrence! (I couldn't spell occurrence, already off to a great start today...)

Welcome back to more simple crowthoughts! Presented by daybloomcrow! Free of charge, unless you like reading my thoughts enough to pay me -- then by all means, please do!! I will hook you up with a link :3

To start - I recently filed my taxes for 2023, and I'm expecting a good sum of money back from the government. Woo! You don't need to tax evade when you're making bank!! #Exploit #Crowboss #JustKiddingStar

Other than that, the weather has continued to remain too cold to participate in outside activities. Being more or less stuck inside, I attended the two classes I had in-person today, finished one of my tasks for my research job, and then pretty much just hopped online to be silly!! I spent some time chatting about various music artists (as is typical with the crow...)

In this particular instance, I found myself listening to the very intriguing album Этажи by Molchat Doma. On a production level it is quite pleasant, but not in a way that particularly stands out amidst coldwave.. however, as a story, it does quite the wonder in capturing the true drab feeling of post-Soviet states and their relationship with the past. I very much recommend checking it out -- making sure you read the lyrics if you do!! :P

Beyond musical feelings.. the feathers of my mind had more grand conversations with those I am close to online!! I'm sure they will end up reading this -- hello to you lot! I've been having a wonderful day and you contributed so much to it :D I will forever be grateful for the collection of pixels that make up the transmutation of your thoughts into a digital realm.. never stop waffling :3c

...I will immediately be hypocritical, as this is where my waffling ends! I just finished a grand session of Stardew Valley -- particularly the Stardew Valley Expanded mod -- and after writing this post, I am simply ready to wind down for the night and complete the homework I have due soon. Best wishes to all the crowfan readers!!

As you may have seen in my first post, I was listening to Quadeca at the time. In fact, it's a special day! Today is the first time I've properly delved into Quadeca; oh man, and do I have some THOUGHTS..

For starters, I listened to two of his albums: the 2024 release SCRAPYARD, and the older and QUITE HEAVY-HITTING 2022 album I Didn't Mean To Haunt You. Safe to say, I have been wowed by both albums in completely different ways...

(This is the part where I dive into my thoughts. Enjoy!)

SUBJECT #1: SCRAPYARD
The first of the albums, and the one I am currently listening to for a second time as of writing this post, is quite the ride. For how humble his beginnings were, I would not expect something of this production value to be gracing my ears!! An unassuming start, Quadeca really channels a special sort of wall of noise-esque production value that combined with the subpar vocals... truly makes something special. His lyricism is raw, and the entire album is a bit of a mess... in the best way possible??? It's hard to explain why it's so captivating to me, but I think I find this sort of sound just enthralling.. it tickles my mind in the same way that Jane Remover's Census Designated does. If you know my music preferences, you will know that is very high praise for an artist to receive!!

Truly I am entirely enamoured by this production and I think this will become a subject of regular listening for me quite quickly. It's not often I am hooked on an album but ever since that first listen I have not been able to get all the little intricacies and aural fuzz out of my mind... curses x_x

SUBJECT #2: I Didn't Mean To Haunt You
Oh. Oh my. Where do I even begin with this one... calling this just an album would be underplaying it. It's an entire story in album format, and my original purposes for diving into Quadeca (eventually ranking each song on this album) seems like a Sisyphean task with just how cohesive it is. Straight up, it is very dark. Granted, when one of the main themes of the album is suicide and the messiness and raw emotion and ugly thoughts of it all... one could expect that! My feeble crow mind was simply taken aback by pretty much how true the emotion put into the songs felt. I get this is a very controversial production - I completely understand why - but I think the ADDITIONAL segue from the shocking, but overall easier listening of SCRAPYARD left me underestimating just how hard this album could hit.

So yeah. (Ugh I'm so going to have to figure out how to even rank these songs still) I just cannot believe that an album brought me to tears on my first listen... that seems to keep happening to me more and more :,) (shoutouts to A Crow Looked At Me, another soul-crushing album) The emotions are strong with the crow... #CryUp

THOSE ARE MY THOUGHTS!! I HAVE MANY QUADECA THOUGHTS!! MY MIND IS VERY FASCINATED!!
I'm so glad to have an outlet for my musicthinking because I simply would not have been able to contain that o_o let it be known that this is not going to the last time I go a bit feral over a music artist... I have a bit of an obsession with doing that :3

So what's this Dreamwidth thing about??

Yes. Hello. It is me, the crow of days, here to ramble about some recent happenings of mine a gentle introduction to a (hopefully!) cool site ^-^

Well, to start, in the middle of writing this post I left to eat dinner which consisted of toasted baguette slices and a banana - shockingly, a great meal! I honestly love the crunch of baguettes it is a texture I will always enjoy :3

Earlier on in the day I spent a lot of time waffling on a Discord server where I host an online writing competition -- the twist involves players submitting rules, and we chatted a LOT about potential funny rules. And also just life and music; the essentials!

I've been talking to quite the spectacular wolfcat, who is one person I can openly be whimsical with. Getting to use so many silly phrases and wordings is quite grand :) I am trying to do that here too! I have also been recovering from the flu, though annoyingly my cough has remained for a solid three weeks now. I'm so over it ;-;

Other than that, I've mostly been chilling and getting through life as a less-than-well off college student. We stay bossin' though!! #Swag

(As you can probably tell by the timestamp, I got up and did something else quite a few times in the midst of writing this. This is typical behaviour for me. Expect a lot of seemingly long writing times from me!)
